Back in the early 2000s, I worked down in Morgan City for awhile, and several times we made the drive and ate lunch at Cypress Inn in Donner, right off Hwy 90. The fried chicken was very good, and the decor, atmosphere of the place was like you were stepping back into the the '30s or '40s.

The thread about BR fried chicken jogged my memory of this place.

Has anyone been there recently? Still good fried chicken?

Make sure you don't have anywheres nice to go afterwards..... You'll walk out smelling like a fried chicken.

Story I heard Chester's Cypress Inn fried chicken begat Danny's Fried Chicken, which begat the Chicken Coop, from which a certain businessman brought some home and begat Popeye's.

There is a related place in Labadieville called Nubby Duck's. Awesome chicken.
