You have Yazoo, Tennessee Brew, Czann's, and Jackalope all within walking distance of each other. None of those are spectacular, but Yazoo usually has some awesome Embrace the Funk beers on tap. Tennessee Brew Works usually has some good music.
Southern Grist, Smith and Lentz, and Fat Bottom are all in East Nashville. Skip Fat Bottom, but the other two make some pretty damn good beers.
I haven't found Bearded Iris to be all that good. I want them to be good because they make styles I like, but all their beers taste like chemicals to me.
Little Harpeth is lagers only. If that's your speed, then go for it as they make some good ones.
As for taprooms, there isn't anything out near Opryland other than Homegrown in Donelson. I recommend Craft Brewed in Melrose to get the best variety. They have 30-40 or so taps, and half, if not more, are local beers.
Mantra puts out some really good stuff that you can get at taprooms, but their brewery is 20 minutes south on the far side of Franklin.
ETA: I forgot that Blackstone just opened their new taproom on the west side. It is a beautiful taproom with fairly good beers.

There were 3 cases of Snake Handler @ Frugal McDoogals this past Monday. Really enjoyed Bearded Iris's Homefront
