Finally made it home from Alexandria. Realized when I hit town my beer selection as far as beer I wasn't holding for some reason or other was lacking, so I swung by the gas station. They had 420, so 2BD is that. I can handle this in a pinch for sure.

Breakside IPA. Solid IPA when fresh.

I agree. We enjoyed the one we had yesterday, thanks to Rouge.

The SH was so great.

You drink it right after the Heady, and you could still taste it?

ETA: Still don't know if Rouge liked it, yesterday.

That Laurelwood and Breakside are staples in Portland supermarkets and gas stations. Available everywhere. Glad to have such decent options. The Breakside leans more to the citrus and the Laurelwood is more herbal.

Yep. It was so good. It fits my tastes perfectly. I prefer the citrus, tropical fruit hop profile and this one delivers.

I prefer the Breakside, for the reasons stated above.

How is the new GF West Coast IPA? Noticed they bumped up the ABV a good bit and threw some Citra in.

Sorry. There aren't a whole lot of things Tin Roof does better than NOLA. Their IPA is one. NOLA needs to back off on all the different malts, then up their hops. It's too sweet and the hops get overpowered.

Not gonna lie, I've been enjoying the hell out of this beer. Nice balance of flavors and very refreshing.

I hear ya. If I couldn't get Live Oak Hefe and Weihenstephaner regularly, Wiesse Versa would be my go to summer wheat beer. Its by far Karbach's best year round offering, IMO.

It's pretty good, real bitter. Like a more tropical note in IPAs but it's not bad. I haven't had a WC IPA in forever so can't compare the new recipe with the old. $8 for the 4 pack was worth a pickup though

Don't apologize, it's not personal! I don't love Hopitoulas either, and I agree they need to work on their recipe(s) for hoppier beer(s).

I just didn't love Juke Joint either. I guess I'd be able to make a decision if I tried them side-by-side. I was more referring to your noted disdain for many of NOLA's products.

zealot, I'm out for the night. One more 420 while I unpack and throw a load of clothes in the wash and I'm

My son stole the Envie I was planning on drinking. He's only 19, but, I figure that if he's old enought to go on a Navy ship for a month this summer, then he's old enough to share a beer with his old man.

Contemplating my NBD.
