I hope all the FBDers who went west this summer took notes for when I'm there in a few weeks.

I did but lost them in the bath house last night.

FBD - SoPro IPA
SBD - SoPro IPA

KJI mentioned it, but I think I have determined what SoPro is missing...it is the sticker. Definitely changes the flavor.

San Francisco to Portland.

You coming to Portland?

If driving from SF, make a pit stop in Bend.

We are. Driving north from San Francisco. Staying along the coast for the most part, but ending up in Portland for a few nights. We should have some beers.

The label is still a sticker, just better executed. What do you think of the 2015 IPA compared to the 2014?

The little sticker, it was the coup de grâce when taking down a can. Just doesn't have the same feel.

Hard to say between 14 and 15. I think 14 was such a shock that I built it up in my head for 15. See: Wrought Iron or Celebration.

FBD is a Terrapin Rye Cubed TIPA

Lots of rye is correct, but lots of malt too. Almost a barleywine profile. Nose is all malt and rye. Though the hops are very fresh, they do not shine. They just provide a lightly boozy background. Prob won't be able to finish this.

FBD - Knee Deep Simtra. Feeling a little less jealous.

BB - drive up the OR coast. Stop for lunch at the Pelican Brewpub. Drive to the next town over (Tillamook), and stop at De Garde. Buy beer. Drive the hour and 15 minutes to Portland. Stop at ABV Pub (off Highway 26, in Hillsboro) for happy hour. Continue into Portland.

Knowing your tastes, Cascade, Upright, Breakside, The Commons, and Hair of the Dog will probably be good bets for you.

Take a trip out the Columbia River Gorge, and visit pFriem and Logsdon.
