FBD - SA Boiler Room

Good, but not great. I was hoping for something close to Prof Briem 1809. It's a good summer beer though. To bad it's in glass bottles so you can take it to the beach.

You must of bought half of BR's supply

I think I bought 8 bottles. Maybe 9.

It was readily available, so I don't feel like I deprived anybody. The last release sat around for a while.

SBD - Oaked Old Guardian (2013 Year Release)

Had the regular on tap the other night and really enjoyed it. There is definite oak flavor in this one, but it does kind of come off bitter and dry on the back end.

The smell is amazing, would love to get another bottle and save it for a year or so. Not sure when this was exactly released or if it already has some age on the bottle.

SBD was a Westbrook Mr. Chipper. Nice Flanders red.

TBD an Anchorage/Hill Farmstead Arctic Soirée. Better as it warmed.

Fbd yalabusha zoo brew red ipa

First time trying at it's good. More hoppy and less sweet than most red ipas I've had. It has won the zoo brew competition in the past

2&3BD - Heady vs GitM...for science

I tried to be as unbiased as possible. Since I already know from previous experiences that Heady is light in color and has a strong nose, I didn't look at the glasses or smell them prior to tasting. The wife poured them in a separate room and took the picture for me. Plus she made curry chicken tenders as a palate cleanser (yea she's awesome and indulges me in my mavenry).

Conclusion below...

Conclusion:
I still knew which one was Heady, so it didn't work. That said...when they were fresh out the fridge, I enjoyed GitM just as much, if not more. After they warmed though, Heady pulled away. It's such a great beer. That's no slight to GitM. It's a really damn good beer.

Signs of a good woman. Careful, the next step is she will be popping bottles and sending pictures to you at work.

Great head to head too. Surprised GitM was able to hang in even on first pour.

Mine is in school full time, bad day equals her diving into my stash.

Luckily she likes IPAs so my stouts are safe for now.
