OK guys.. I don't drink beer (except that time I went to salt lake for training a few months ago).. Where do you find these beer you are drinking.. I've never heard of almost any of the names.. What is the difference between these and say your bud lights or millers.. The taste?? And price?? Is there a thread with this kind of info?

Just curious...

speciality beer stores or online

if you are in Alex, Hokus Pokus will be your best bet

Is this what you were doing every time you got a new beer? No wonder it took you so damn long to play 18.

The girls went shopping today, so I explored Vienna and found a brewery. First I ordered an Oakes IPA, but they were out. I was bummed. I wanted to try a euro version of an American IPA. Next I ordered a pils. Decent. I then got an oatmeal stout. Way too bitter and harsh for an oatmeal stout. Next I tried a schnapps made from their IPA. Interesting. Not sure good is the word is use, but I can say I've tried an IPA based liquor.

I give these guys credit for trying something out of the norm for the area, but they need some work.

I live in Prairieville.. What do you look for when finding these beer?? Someone needs to write an instructional thread to the ins and outs of looking for the types of beer and what some of the initials mean when yall talk about them.. I'm kinda interested but get lost trying to follow these threads

There's a new Hokus Pokus there too. There are different types of beers you could try to see if you like them.

tduecen should give you a few tips when he shows up. He just started drinking these beers and seems to have a good handle on what he likes and doesn't.

LINK
This link is a good start to educating yourself. We've all been where you are so....Endeavour to Persevere in your education. I would start by trying some Ambers or Pale Ales. Could tell you what they taste like but it's better just to try for yourself.
