I haven't seen it with my own eyes, but a trusted co-worker just told me they put up a Dunkin' Donuts banner at the old Dos Hermanos (old taco bell) building on Sherwood.

That place should be torn down before anything else is served out of it.

Very good possibility. They are trying to get after the NOLA market pretty heavily right now.

I think I remember reading something on the daily business report email a while ago that said that Dunkin' Donuts were moving into the area over the next 18-24 months. I can't recall when I read this but I'm almost positive I did.

They are definitely trying to get into the NOLA market FYI

Yeah, they expressed interest to put a bunch in the area. IIRC they were even talking about Prairieville and Gonzales locations. This is the first firm sign of it happening. I'd think they would want to build a new building. I guess they can steam clean Dos Hermanos enough to put a shine on that turd. Another coworker said it looked like they were going to fix it up rather than tear it down.

I agree that the place needs a damn good fumigation and power spraying before opening in there.

But once that is done, it'll be cool having a Dunkin' and a Dairy Queen WITH an badass Orange Julius in it within 1/2 mile of each other. Can't wait.

I get the Orange Julius' from the DQ in Orange Beach and they are so friggin' addictive.

Haven't had one in Baton Rouge in a long time. They had one on Florida near Lobdell when I was a kid ('70s), but it closed years ago.

I was surprised by how many they had in Connecticut the last time I visited.

I usually hate cake-style donuts, but I like DD's chocolate honey-dipped and blueberry cake ones.

Forgive my relatively-new-to-the-area self, but where is this old Taco Bell/Doc Hermanos (whatever that is)? Are we talking close to Coursey? I-12? Old Hammond? Florida?

It's on Sherwood near I12. Between Podnuh's BBQ and Daiquiri Cafe.
