not entertaining folks, so casual dining with good bar, besides the regular, Wintzells, Bicycle place etc

I would recommend driving across the bay and head down to a place called "Sunset Grill" in Fairhope located at the Fairhope Yacht club. Place has great food and great cocktails. They ring the sunset bell at sunset and everyone does a toast. Really cool place!

kitchen on george is probably my favorite place in mobile (granted i haven't tried many)

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I would go to moes and get some chicken wings or callaghans for a burger then hit up biergarten (sp?) for a bar. They have an excellent selection of beer and bourbon.
