I hear the food is really good and its a good lunch spot if you are out in the airport area.

Is that the place down the road from UOP?

Yup very good southern home cooked style food. Remember to bring cash. Most plates are $10 with a few being $11. The owner is also a character as well.

Aren't they supposed to have good fried chicken?

Yup the fried chicken is delicious and I think available daily. They rotate the other hot lunches. I've had hamburger steak, meatloaf, fried catfish, beef tips & gravy, and I can't remember what else. But I've never got anything bad from there and definitely never left hungry.

I think Wednesday, unless they changed it, is Fried Chicken day.

Loved going to there when I lived in the area. As others have mentioned, bring cash and get the fried chicken.
I also picked up on something else while eating there and seeing others do it. That is putting gravy on the jambalaya they serve. Pretty good stuff!

Best plate lunches in town. The fried chicken is delicious. Bring cash.

If it hasn't been mentioned yet, please bring cash.

Interesting...I didn't know any of the Dominiques were still open.

Fried chicken and some of the best in town. My problem is the gravy the sides pretty much everything else tastes like it came out of a can and is not very good

I went yesterday, fried chicken was very good! The green beans were very tasteful. I agree I did see some sides that appeared to be out of the can, I will go back to try something different though. I need all the options I can get for lunch working on this side of town LOL!

If you bring cash you can get some of the best fried chicken around!

YES Stockyard is good stuff as far as entrees go. Glenn is a good guy and has been serving up grub around town for 30 years. Top notch chicken, jambalaya. I think the jambalaya is the best in town, had some today.
That being said all the sides are canned including the red and white beans, and of course the green.. The potatoes are instant. Gravy is instant too.....The cabbage is fresh but thats about it.
I know this to be fact because I have seen the back room many a time and was surprised the first time. I even asked the owner and he didn't have any shame about it.
HE does pop out 300 or so lunches a day and has been for years so folks like it alright.
