I know this is debated tirelessly...

but this year I've had a really good one.

Someone in the Old Metairie parade was throwing giant Carrots and we cut one up and put it into the boil...I've had regular baby carrots in a boil before, but the cut carrots (sliced) were very good.

Just a suggestion.

I cut slits down the sides of a jar full of baby kosher dills yesterday. Pretty awesome.

Just search dude, there are plenty of threads on this and many that mention carrots.

I even started a master list for non-traditional sides, here.

You can throw anything into a boil and it'll taste good. Not sure if this needed it's own thread...

man my buddy brought over some cow testicles that he had in his freezer. Apparently his family eats them every year. he is from Oklahoma.

Long story short.. not sure if anyone has ever tried them before but holy crap they were actually pretty amazing. We didnt tell people they were cow nuts, people were eating them. Then we finally said what they were and some folks were just grossed out and stop eating them.
