Friends,

Although I dislike Wagyu and its high fat content — I hold the unorthodox view that a sirloin is the best cut of beef — I saw this special today and thought some of you might be interested. If you sent me a pack I’d probably turn it into a hamburger. I bought two for Uncle earlier because he so likes both Wagyu and NY strips. The website goes from out of stock to in stock every few bits so try often if it is out of stock.

Wagyu special

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Can't you get an entire cow for just about that much.

Friend,

Usually this cut goes for $100-$110/lb. An entire A5 Wagyu I believe averages $15,000 to $20,000 and can go as high as $40K.

I prefer an American corn fed black Angus, but I figured some on this board who like the fat would like this deal.

Wish it was ribeye. I’d dry age that, trim it to steaks, grind the trimmings for burgers.

Not poor. Travels frequently, eats well, has enough time to write book length blogs about it. Me guess is he/she/it is trust fund kid with deep pockets and a lot of spare time.

Friend,

I’ll probably be too intimidated to cook something that expensive.

Ain’t nothing gonna taste $800 good.

I’d be sick the second I purchased it.
