Cigar smokers - how to store while humidor is curing?

New to the cigar world, but went ahead and picked me up a humidor and a humidifier kit. Out of an over abundance of excitement, I purchased a dozen cigars to begin trying before my humidor is cured. They’ve sat on a ziplock bag for a week so I have one more week to go.

Is there something I should do with the sticks in the meantime? Will two weeks sitting in the ziplock bag, cause any degradation or negative impact the cigars?

take a smaller zippy bag and put a damp paper towel inside it
don’t seal it and stuff it down into your zippy with the cigars in it.

seal up the big zippy and check the cigars daily

This is the easiest way. You can store them like this indefinitely as long as you replace the Boveda packs occasionally.

Get one of these food grade airtight containers:

And

Order some Boveda packs.

I actually don't have a "nice" humidor now, I only use these containers.

I'll second cgrand's method for something easy to do and cheap...only thing I'd add is to be sure to replace the damp paper towel often, as it will got moldy if you forget about it and leave it in there for several days.

I got my first tupperdor items in the mail yesterday. Air tight container, two cedar trays, Boveda packs, and Boveda butler. So simple, so cheap.

I have a bathroom with no AC in it. Just a door to a hallway.

Humidity stays fairly high.

My cigars stay in a box pressed box tucked above the tub area.
