Why is this place so popular?

Dropped by for the first time and it's crap compared to Izzo's or even Moe's. I don't get the appeal. Can someone explain why?

I don't think we have an Izzo's or Moe's up here.

The taste of their food is not so bad, it is just never hot, just barely warm. I pass.

For me, it's the only place I can get a good tofu burrito.

I think it is much better than Moes. It isn't an authentic Mexican experience, but I like that their ingredients look and taste fresh. You can see them cooking onions and peppers in the back.

I also have eaten more burritos from chipotle than I'd like to admit

Haven't had Chipotle in about 8 years, but I remember the food being good. I wouldn't say it was better or worse than Izzos.

I like Chipotle, but 2 things they do that aggravate me:

1)No queso

2)They have "hot", "medium", and "mild" salsa... But then you look at what they are referring to, and its pico de gallo, salsa verde, and a really hot red salsa. Its like they are trying to pass it off as the same thing with just varying levels of spice, when in reality its 3 entirely different things.

What's not to love about a mundane selection of beans and over salted, watered down meats ? Did I mention they have grilled onions and peppers!!

I have eaten all 3 places and IMO here is the order from best to least best:
Moe's
Chipotle
Izzo's

Moe's and Chipotle seem to use fresher ingredients and their steak and ground beef burritos have far less grease pouring out everywhere. Every time I get a burrito from Izzo's there is grease gushing out both sides and I have to use 1000 paper towels to wipe the crap off my hands and face.

Not sure why Moe's and Chipotle do not have this issue but I would assume it has something to do with the quality of meat and/or cooking methods

We don't have Izzo's here but I agree with you on Moe's. I'd rather go to Moe's than Chipotle.

Chipotle is nothing special, you're right. The 3 you named are honestly not very good. I would put Moe's at the bottom, and Izzos slightly above chipotle.

Way above those two are freebirds and qdoba, in that order. Neither of which are in south Louisiana to my knowledge

ETA: there appears to be a qdoba in BR. Place is delicious

Chiptole has better quality ingredients.
Izzo's has fresh japs, queso, and some other good ingredients chiptole doesnt have.

Both are really good imo.
