Just started brewing with a Chemex the past few days and I can't decide if I prefer it over the French press. On one hand the Chemex produces a very clean and flavorful cup of coffee but on the other hand it lacks the body of a cup of French pressed coffee. Not sure which I prefer at this point.

I know I know.....drip pot, community dark roast blah blah blah.

I use my Chemex more

I've never done an actual side by side comparison though to see if I could tell the difference or preferred one over the other

maybe that is something I'll do this weekend...god my life has become boring

I have both and an Aero Press as well. All produce a different cup and have their place.

I'm right there with you buddy. It's amazing the things that become fun and interesting when you become a parent. Guess I'll brew another cup and keep messing with the grind size. You go medium or med-coarse? I brewed in the Chemex with French press water:bean ratios yesterday and ended up with way more coffee than one person should consume in one morning.

I don't have a chemex but SO's mom does. It makes a damn good cup of coffee but I have never made it myself.

I love my French Press. I can't see myself getting Chemex right now because i have too much coffee shite.

My next purchase will probably be an Aeropress

Switched to a Chemex after I broke my French Press a few months back. I found you have to either add more coffee or use less water. I have it pretty tuned in now with my grinder presets and I'm very satisfied with the Chemex.
