Of course we had the classic crawfish/shrimp boil, fried seafood, and catfish couvillion, seafood gumbo Fridays but what were some of your Mom's "not so classic" Lent dishes you remember as a kid.

Tuna noodle casserole w/ petit pois
Fish sticks
Fried egg and rice
Canned salmon with rice and gravy

God, we ate so many fish sticks in the 70s! Also used to have pancakes for dinner sometimes. We liked the pancakes better.

Did you have Tang for breakfast? Those were the days.

Anyone know where I can buy a garfish ball plate lunch in Baton Rouge? Or a good recipe for garfish balls rice and gravy?
