I remember back in college my roommate worked for Cane's.
He worked at one of the main one's around campus and Graves had a big meeting and told them how he was making all the combos 1-strip smaller, and charging more for them. He also said that he was doing this "for the customer." That has stuck with me for a while.

Being from GA, I laughed at Cane's when I moved to Baton Rouge.

went today for first time in a while, i was not happy. A lot of places down size their portions. Like popeyes and their sides, they used to be huge now i get a spoon full of mashed taters and a cup of gravy.

Literally, just chicken strips.
There is just no attempt at all to try there. I feel like everyone at LSU was pretending to think it is so great because the guy went to LSU.

I heard from some buddies he presented this for an assignment at LSU. Come up with a business model, and he failed. Yet in the real world, he didnt. It was all about the sauce really, and now that its been around for 16 years, it's nothing special.
Gotta give props to the guy though for following through with his dream and becoming very successful.

Mrs. bunky and I usually go to Canes, get a caniac combo and put the chicken on a salad drowning with ranch-cane's sauce mixture.

This is funny, so was talking to my boss yesterday and the owner of our company BIL is 3rd in line for Canes. So supposedly how it went down was the guy who started Canes got tired of running the day to day and just wanted to kick back. The current president said the only way he was taking over is if he had full control which was agreed upon. First think he did was move it to Dallas. By the, owners BIL who is now a big wig for them started working there part time in college when the owner was running. Made a good impression I guess, now the frickers a millionaire, some peoples luck.

Never had Cane's before. Always wanted to try but I've never got around to it. There's one in Norman and I think I'll try and go next semester.
