I recently traveled to Strongsville, OH for work and happened upon a bar/brewery/smoke house that may very well have been the place I want to spend my final day, called The Brew Kettle.

LINK /

Not only did they have the best selection of quality brews and great food, but they also allow the general public to brew their own beer on site. Once your beer is completed, they will even put it on tap and allow others to taste and if it's good enough sell for profit.

So my question is this - would something like that work in the South or would you just have a bunch of coonasses making Coors light?

Sounds like a great place, but there are a couple things working against you: we have nowhere near the beer culture they do in the midwest (although I think that is changing slowly), and for some reason, it seems BBQ joints just don't seem to take off in LA. I know there aren't many good ones, and that could be one problem, but I could easily see that place tanking down here. Just my $0.02.

I've heard of places like this in New England. It could be fun. It may be hit or miss though.

Not sustainable in the south at this juncture in time. It would be popular at first but would die down as the novelty wore off.

Sounds like "The Mill" on Essen back in the late 80's

The laws down here are working against something like that opening down here. (Def no selling of homebrew)

Compared to other brews, Coors light (miller, bud, etc)isnt very easy to make from what i understand.
