Debating whether to build or buy a wine/bar cabinet. Wife wants one real bad and I hate going to buy furniture so I'm leaning towards building. Any you baws ever built one?

You will feel better about building one. Plus you can make it however you want. If you're handy, go for it.

If you're wanting something for show purposes and not collecting, build away. If you're wanting something legitimate for cellaring, read up thoroughly on humidity and temperature controls or pony up and buy one.

Trust me I have both at my place lol. I have close to 150 bottles in racks in my living room and have my cabinet for the collectibles. Any wine worth storing for extended periods deserves proper storage. If you're looking for something to hold just 5 cases of drinkables, build away. Keep in mind when building that there is a huge variance in bottle sizes and widths. I would go somewhere to measure the largest and smallest bottle lengths and circumferences.
