Going to be passing through each city in a few weeks, only have time to stop at 1 or 2 in each city. Best ones to visit in each city? Thx

black acre is my favorite in indy, i also like fountains square

Tomlinson tap room is downtown and carries only indiana beers. They often have three floods stuff on tap.

Also cincy has great breweries if you have time top stop there

Ive been in indy the last few days and the beer scene is disappointing to me. I enjoyed columbus much much more. Not enough ipas in indy.

Anyone know why Against the Grains beers are so damn expensive? I'd like to try one, but i'm not spending $14 on a bomber of beer. It's not like these are barrel-aged sours either. Every beer at Calandro's ranges from $12-$15.

They are proud of them. And they are largely hit or miss IMO.

They're definitely in Mikkeller territory as far as hit or miss, but their pub usually has some good stuff at a more reasonable price.

Because they are distributed through Twelve Percent imports. You basically have an extra tier in the distribution system.

Any US brewery that we get through an importer is going be priced on the high side by the time it gets here: Prairie, Jolly Pumpkin, Anchorage, etc.

ETA: This is why you hear of bottle of Prairie BOMB being $6 dollars in Oklahoma, but they are $10 here.

I was going to make this exact comparison, but then I backed off. I figured 5 beers wasn't enough to pass judgment on their whole line-up. I really enjoyed their gose.

ut, good info.

thanks for the info, will be in Indy on a Sunday and the Tomlinson tap room isn't open Sundays. Looks like I may be trying Flat 12 and Sun King that day in downtown Indy.
