Taking my Mom out to Brunch next Saturday and haven't been to either. Any thoughts or experience with either would be appreciated

I've never had brunch but have had dinner at both places. Compere Lapin is a french style restaurant with extremely small portion sizes but extremely delicious. Expect to order a few small plates along with your main course. I got the duo of beef-beef rib/serloin (art 6 oz of meat total) and the lady got the lobster pasta. Also, had a few small plates...tuna tar tar, seafood pepper pot ect.
Sylvain is one of my favorite spots in the city. Portion sizes were bigger than Compere but both were equally as good. The beef cheeks and pork shoulder are really good, served on grits...you may be able to find both these on the brunch menu. If the sea bass is the fish of the day I recommend getting that.
