Like the guys from Tennessee I have not been to Red Stick since 2001 & my son is flying in from Denver to Houston where we leave for the LSU/Ole Miss game. Recommendations for very good seafood & tiger faithful to drink with, Early tailgating. My son's a Longhorn alumni but says There's no place like Tiger Stadium. Smart kid.

I'm a big fan Parrains. It will be packed but I've always had really good seafood there.

I think Parrain's has great food and is a good value, but go early before 6 pm or later after 8 pm to avoid the crowds.

Definitely, great seafood, and it's a short drive from LSU.

Mansur's gets my vote.

Warm crawfish salad is awesome.

Thanks for the advise, looks like parrain's Friday night then Mike Andersons Sat, with Walk Ons in between. all we need now is a Tiger win over Ole Miss.

Those are both good choices with plenty of good seafood options on their menus.

Mike Andersons hasn't been good since the 80's. Last couple times I went there, it was inedible.

I'll throw another vote in for Parrians.

I dont get the downvotes on this, they have the best fried seafood in town. Their gumbo is also really good. Im all ab that MA Lyfe. Their lunch menu is a hell of a deal.

If you're looking for a spot close to campus with great seafood and drinks, Mike Anderson's is definitely the play. Parrains would be a good option as well.

You could walk to Tiger Stadium from either location fairly easily.

The one in Gonzales or by LSU? I probably go to the one by campus once a week for the last many years and have never once had an experience where the food was 'inedible' lmfao
