Frank Family makes fantastic wines IMO. Their reserves are all excellent. We have a few bottles of their reserve cab, which is great. We had a bottle of their reserve pinot and chardonnay recently at celebration meals and they were both even better than I remembered.
Agreed, we opened a bottle of the 2011 reserve Chardonnay the other night and had forgotten how good it was.

The Hillside Select is included in the tasting. The tasting is $55 but absolutely worth it.
Yea that's not a bad deal considering Opus One charges around that much, and you only taste one (1) single wine.

Schafer is well worth it. You can buy Hillside Select at the winery, as well. 2 per tasting.
Other private wineries that I recommend:
Vineyard 7 and 8
Montagna
Fisher (maybe not private?)
Wherever OP ends up, do reserve and private tastings. Better juice, better experience.

There are literally hundreds of options for you. Without knowing exactly what you prefer, where you will be staying, and how many days you will be there, here are a couple of my favorites:
Chimney Rock and Stag's Leap for great cabs near Napa on the Silverado Trail
Kistler has a fantastic private tasting experience in the Russian River Valley - one of the most expensive tastings but worth it
Chalk Hill is northeast of Healdsburg and has a wonderful tasting/chef's pairing
Sunset at Mumm or Round Pond is a great way to finish the day in Oakville
Other notables:
Mantanzas Creek - lavendar field
Soda Rock - Cool vibe with about 20 wines to taste
Hook and Ladder - buy a bottle of the hot pepper sauce while there
Ledson - great place for a picnic and cool house
Ferrari Carano - Suprisingly good for a large winery, cool
Frog's Leap - super friendly with a cool tour
Domaine Carneros - great view

My wife and I just got back from an extended weekend in Napa. Visited 10 wineries in all. Our favorites were:
Cakebread - GREAT wine.
Salinas - In addition to making their own wine, the owners rent their facility to local wine makers who can't afford a building of their own. So there is a large variety of different wines to sample and buy. Really cool courtyard where you have a picnic type lunch.
Frog's Leap - The staff and wine were top notch. Nice patio and courtyard where you can relax.
Beau Vigne - Tasting room in Yountville. Best Cab I tried the entire trip called Romeo. Little more expensive, but worth it.
I'm more of a beer guy myself, so I made sure to visit Russian River and Lagunitas. Would highly recommend checking out both of them (only about 20 minutes apart).

One of the very few wineries still offering FREE tastings is Heitz Cellars. Their wines are pretty damn good too. Especially their single vineyard wines. When I went a few years back, they were not busy (it was off season) and poured 3 or 4 wines that retailed from ~$30 - ~$120 a btl. Well worth a stop.

There are around 400 brick and mortar wineries in the Napa Valley. Similar numbers in Sonoma Valley. Hard to pick just a couple. Don't do more than 3 in a day. Your palate would be destroyed.
Silverado Trail has less traffic and is prettier than Hwy 29. Stags Leap and Oakville produce some nice cabs. Cade up on Howell Mountain has some spectacular views.
If you're a beer guy, make sure to hit Lagunitas in Petaluma. Russian River in Santa Rosa is nice, but parking is difficult and the brewpub is always packed. Lagunitas has communal tables and there is always a spot to sit, plus they are dog friendly.
Eta: whoops, this got renewed. My advice stays the same

When President Nixon had the French President at the White House for dinner he served him a Cab from Heitz Cellars
