Is that on Horseshoe Bend Road?

ETA: I'll try that one, but is there a second best one that's less than 26 miles from South Highlands.

The best I've had in Shreveport is Crescent Landing.

Not fancy at all. Cheap. Great catfish. Not far from South Highlands.
Re: side dish options. Don't get the bean soup. It's not good. Everything else is OK.

Jan's off Greenwood ( I think). I have been to the other places mentioned. This one beats 'em all.

Is that the place north of the Loop, in the middle of BFE, on a lake? If so, I remember that they had damn good catfish. We used to hurt ourselves on the all you can eat in the 90s.

When will they be full service?

Cypress Inn burned down several years ago. And yes, it was the best. There is a sign on north Airline near Benton that says "Cypress Inn" but the only thing there is a new fitness center.

Zealot, where exactly is the new Cypress Inn?

If you're on a skateboard. In a car it's about 12 minutes.

Maybe if its 2 a.m. and you're doing 80. I'd much rather make the drive to Cypress Inn than Jan's though. Jan's may be closer, but its not even close to being in the same ballpark as Cypress Inn. I had no idea it was about to reopen though. I was crushed when it burned down. Growing up we went to CI every other weekend.

i'm not a fan, and their hush puppies are arse. they're the frozen ones that are shaped like dog turds.

jan's on 70th is the best "in" town, wilson's if you're up for a hike.

Wilson's is my pick too. They make a pretty mean steak also.

David Beard's shouldn't be mentioned in this thread, except for the bean soup.
