There have been quite a few Chinese threads as of late, which leads to me ask, what is the BEST Chinese in South Louisiana? My vote goes to Little Chinatown in Kenner, which serves up some impressive authentic dishes, including my personal favorites -- intestine with XO sauce, congee with duck & 100-year old egg, da dou miao (garlic pea shoots), cong bao yang rou (lamb w/ spring onion), short rib pot, beef chow fun, and all off their "salt & pepper" dishes.

In close 2nd would be Young's Garden, also in Kenner. Great soups, crab rangoon, cho cho, lomi lomi...

China Doll on the Wank

North Shore Empress in Covington knocked my socks off when I tried them for the first time a couple months back.

I've heard this, but still haven't eaten it.

How you doing, bro?

China Doll is very similar to Young's. Menu is almost identical, not sure if it's the same family or what. I ate there 15 or so years ago, don't remember much about it.

Little Chinatown is the best I have had outside of a place in NYC.

It's been about that long for me as well. So I can't speak to it now, but it was excellent back then.

Trey Yuen in Mandeville is another excellent choice too.

Trey Yuen isn't what it once was, either. I still like it, but it's not nearly as good as it was back in the day with the Wong brothers in the kitchen.

Had the best pot stickers.

Haven't eaten there in years, but every time I visit the family I would see their sign on I-10 around Livingston Parish and get reminded of those damn pot stickers.

I've since found a new favorite place for Chinese/Thai, but had some fond memories of Trey Yuen
