I drove by that area yesterday and saw a new place called Juicy. I automatically thought of Jussie Smollet.

To answer the OP, not sure about the best. Hunan was good when I went but that was a long time ago. But If I had to go eat Chinese tonight, I’d choose Asia seafood house.

Asian Seafood House on Florida, or if you feel like making the drive, Lee's in Watson.

Asian Seafood House is with out a doubt the best Chinese in Baton Rouge. Chengs would currently be my second choice.

R.I.P. Omi and Nine Dragon Noodle House.

That's because there is not a clear winner and people are hoping to find something better than what's currently out there. Chinese food options in BR are terrible.

There is a clear winner. It’s Asian Seafood House on Florida. It’s fantastic.

Off topic, but does anyone remember a Chinese restaurant called Shing's on Government back in the 1980s?

Edit: Per Google Street View, the location (3669 Government) is now the site of Cajun Eats.

Shings!
It was OK. Basically buffet only. A friend of mine once went there and asked for a menu. They had to dig around in the back for 10 minutes.

Shing’s was the first Chinese food and the first buffet I ever had. For the price, it was a great deal for starving college students. Does anyone recall the China Tiger on the LSU campus circa 1990?
