I thought the meat was pretty good on my one trip. The sauce will make you Wilford Brimley though. Turrible

Eta- definitely over hyped. I went in expecting world class Q. Not even close

I went recently and was underwhelmed.

I will admit that i am not a barbecue expert and don't eat it much, but it tasted over done. The ribs were fall off the bone and the brisket had a nice amount of fat on it, but the actual meat tasted overdone or old. It was a texture thing. Maybe it was cooked the day before?

Anyway, if that is championship barbecue then i guess I am just not a barbecue fan.

The sides were also meh.( Mac and Cheese and greens) It was $18 for the plate.

It catches a whole lot of flack around here because like hipsters, the food board just doesn't like to admit when something is actually decent.

IMO it's solid BBQ. I'm not sure who's really "hyping" ocean springs Mississippi BBQ, but if you're expecting solid BBQ with some solid sides for sub $20 a head, you'll enjoy yourself.

It's super overhyped. The people who own it are a lot better at getting publicity than making barbecue. It's not bad, but they've been on a ton of Food Network shows - probably because it's a nice looking young woman and her brother who own the place.

It's usually very good but inconsistent. I go every time I go to beach and 2/3 were great. One was just awful. All at the same lunch time too.

Went in April. Everyone should go for the atmosphere and the Q was ok. From Louisiana but moved to Houston right out of LSU. Most Texas bbq is just better than what I had at the Shed. Guy next to us in Ole Miss hat asked what I thought of the bbq at the Shed and I told him that it was exactly like bbq I've had in
Texas in that both were cooked outside but that is where the similarities ended.
