Anyone here tried BBQ carrots?

Last week I was planning to grill some chicken thighs on the pit... charcoal not gas.
I love grilled red onions but never tried carrots. So, I peeled them and threw them on the top rack above the chicken and closed the lid for a slower longer cooking time.
They came out tasting like candy. A combination of smokiness and sweet. Will do it again soon.
