I have only been once since they opened...I know, I am ashamed...

The one trip, combined with my cousin's one trip, constitute's a B- for their early days. The bun was not pressed, and the sauce was skimpy. I have vowed to give them a little time before I judge them by my 28 years of HI Ho experience (Since I was 5).

Went last night for my first try in Denham and first time in probably 12 or 13 years. Just as I remembered it to be in Hammond, same tastes and look, just a little more pricey than back in the day.
I ordered the number 4, 1 beef and 1 pork dressed with cheese, and they were done well. LOTS of "sauce" and yes the bun seemed pressed and steamed. Fries were nice and crisp, thick cut. Ordered a cheeseburger for the kids and this was a damn good burger albeit pretty small for the price charged.
Lots of people who obviously had been in Hammond before were bringing their kids in and explaining the whole story to them with the explanation of how the "BBQ" is different from dads, had a very nostalgic feel to it all.
Hope they do well, I'll definitely go back from time to time to help support them.

We went tonight for the 3rd time. The first two times were within the first week and a half they were opened. I ordered heavy sauce because the other two times the sauce was a little skimpy. The sauce was perfect this time! The buns were pressed, but they didn't have the dark ring I am used to. The first two times, the buns were not pressed, so I was happy.

We got fries, which was odd! I have never had fries with Hi Ho bbq. My daughter had a burger. It looked like it was made from real meat, which is a plus! It was a decent size, so I don't know if you got a smaller one...but my daughter's was good.

I love the old time feel to the place. It feels like the one in Hammond, or especially the "older" one in Hammond.

I no longer have to drive to Hammond!!!!!

Edited to add: This place is busy! I think they will do fine.
