On the 6pm. news (WBRZ, channel 2 in BTR, cable 05), they will have an interview on the impact of the Port Allen locks closing and the intracoastal waterway.

The Berwick locks have been closed for awhile now. This really only affects a few businesses in the Teche, but traffic in Berwick Bay is shut down anyway.

Wiz, the Berwick locks have been closed for some time now, however there is not much traffic going in and out of those locks, plus the railroad bridge is down so no traffic is going through MC anyways.

The River was supposed to close from MC Railroad bridge to Simmesport when MC gauge got to 7.5

When currents reached 3.5 knots on the MC river gauge the intersection between the Atchafalya River and the ICWW was closed to all commercial traffic...

The Bayou Beouf locks will be closing soon

Please do not rain on his parade. I think he believes the Berwick locks keep water from flowing upstream.

Not so much, but good try. I guess we were late to the party. We received a PDF letter from the corps, dated yesterday, stating the closing was effective immediately. It essentially has no impact on how we navigate the ICW. I was just passing the info on in case anyone cared.

What conditions have to exist to mandate closing of the Bayou Boeuf locks? The differential was 6.1 feet yesterday. The Bayou Chene project seems to be working so far, keeping the east side around 3 feet, while the west side goes up with the river levels.
