Has anyone heard from Tim Dallinger?

I have been absent. Even when I don't post, I generally check this board though.

I know what I can do and what I can't. I like the software I use but it has some limitations. When I saw this request, I knew someone else could do a much better job. So I didn't want to spend a lot of time on something that would be moot.

On the WWII image, I only worked on the background after the image was restored. If there is something along those lines for this one, I'll be sure to tag in.

I ve thought about buying Photoshop several times but then I come here and realize even if I had it Im probably never gonna be as good as some folks here.

If you are interested in contributing, check out the thread "Teach a man to fish." It covers some of the basics of getting started photo editing.

It can be intimidating with some real talent around here. But if you start working, you might find your niche. There are often requests I see and I recognize a particular poster would be better suited for that specific project.

If you think you might enjoy it, give one of the freeware programs a try before spending funds on the 'Shop.

Tim, thanks for replying so quickly.

I would love to see anything y'all can do to the picture. Funny or serious.

Truble I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Work's been super-busy since the weather up and turned GORGEOUS on Friday. I won't have a day off until Thursday - So it's possible I'll have it finished before then... But realistically - Thursday.

Sorry... I'm a perfectionist and this is NOT an easy job for somebody like me.

Using Hippo's image, I cleaned a few of the random folds and dark spots and changed the color for a more subtle tone.

Looks really good

I've never been good with color. As an amateur artist I always gravitate towards pen and ink, charcoal, or pencil. I think that translates to my work in photoshop

Just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten about ya. I kinda hit a wall on this one last night and decided to step away to fark another day.

Progress report...

That eye under the smudge is giving me hell!

I'll finish this thing if it kills me (and my vision).

They finally let me in!

Thanks SoonerPyscho for posting that restoration for me.

To the OP...the above photo is the best I can do. Doesn't look great, but it doesn't look terrible either.

Hope works for you.
