I am picking 8th in a 10 man league.
In our league, QB's get 6 points a TD, and 1 point for every 20 yards. Obviously, QB go a little higher in this draft.
I am very high on Gronk. If I took him with my first pick, and either Rogers or Luck was there for my second pick (or vice versa), would it be really crazy to not take a CJ Anderson or Hill right there....and just wait till the 3rd and 4th round???

I keep going back and fourth on this one.

**Update**.... Took Gronk with 1st pick in the draft. And happy I did!!

Absolutely not.

If you make that pick make it being fully aware that Gronk is not a top 5 receiving target.

Not a PPR league.
Yea, a Bryant pick maybe better there.

No it's not crazy. RB's are the first to get hurt. The NFL is a passing league now. Most teams run two RB systems.
CJ Anderson could be this season's Zac Stacy. Always be weary of the RB who did really well at the end of the season.
There will be another CJ Anderson/Zac Stacy pick up later this year. Pick that RB up and make the playoffs.

Personally, I would probably go with D. Thomas or Odell then grab Luck if available in the 2nd, followed by the 2 best available RB picks(L.Miller type), then snag someone like Amari or Edleman in the 5th. Of course, if a real value pick falls to you, then you gotta jump on it.

In many 12 man mocks, I got OBJ and Dez, then picked up Carlos Hyde/Joesph Randle/Melvin Gordon my next 2 picks. Followed by a solid TE and a flex player. So no, you don't need a RB in the first two rounds

That's exactly how I feel!... RB's get hurt the most, so if I play the draft or waiver wire right, I can snag a good flex. And outside of the top 3 or 4, they all split carries now.
So why not grab the #1 TE (who I think will be head and shoulders above the rest of the TE's), and the Number #1 QB in a very QB friendly league?!
I can def get a serviceable WR in the 4 or 5th round like a Cooper or Hopkins.

why not the #1 Kicker then, or #1 DEF? Com'on maaan!

It's all about value. You would be leaving waaay too much value on the board if you use your first round pick on Gronk. Antonio Gates did just about as well as Gronk last year. Draft Gates in the later rounds.

Or zac Stacy just sucks and Anderson is good. One has nothing to do with the other whatsoever.

I mean, Keenan Allen was great as a rookie then sucked. Therefore be wary of Odell Beckham Jr coming off a strong rookie campaign

Picking Gronk at 8 is fricking stupid. I'm sorry.

Any of the elite WRs are a better pick than Gronk

his last 2 full seasons played, on average:

86 catches, 1225 yards, 14 TDs

Let's not forget the pace he was on in 2013 thru 7 games before he got hurt

90 catches 1350 yards, 9 TDs

dude is a justifiable top 10 pick even in a 10 tm league

If gronk plays a full season then his value is as high as anyone's (and mathematically maybe technically the highest) in leagues that have to start a TE. Many starting TE's won't have half his points.

There are what? A half dozen maybe more wr's that will be making in the same class of point range. A healthy Gronk is only rivaled by Graham who is in a new system this year.

It seems like people preaching about positional value in this thread aren't considering positional value.

Crazy? No. It would have a slim chance at success though.

In a 10 team league last year I went QB-WR with my first two picks and i was the worst team in the league.
