With the Bears benching Cutler, there goes my starting QB the last two games. My back-up is Drew Stanton (Had Palmer and picked him up when Palmer went down - at that time, no-one else was available), and he is hurt and not playing. Our league is now locked and we cannot pick-up anymore players off of waivers. I am basically now playing the rest of the season with no QB! Screw you Bears!!!

Locking your league is some BS. You should be able to fill a spot if your starter is out. You aren't going to bitch about this? It's championship week and you're missing a starting QB. Might as well just hand the trophy over to your opponent.

Seriously though, this is absurd. I would complain to your commissioner and if you can't pick up another QB, I'd drop this league next year.

Whoops. He is the new rapper QB for the Arizona.

As for the lock in the league. Our playoff goes with the NFL playoffs. As teams in the NFL make the players, so do the players we have on our rosters. Bears weren't going to make it anyway; however, I still have this week and next week to play for regular season; our league has a pay out for top three spots for regular season, and then pays out top 3 spots for playoffs as well. Regular season pays a lot more.

I would be tempted to edit the bylaws for next season that if someone is carrying two QB on their roster and both get injured/benched after the league locks, you are allowed to swap one of those players for their real life backup. If you are only carrying one QB, that's on you.

But, you're fricked this year. Them's the breaks.

I agree, I will propose this.

Pretty sure when things like this happen in the NFL playoffs teams can recall players from their practice squad...

Picking up the 9th ranked QB in the 10th round? Hardly screwing yourself.

He's 9th in scoring among QBs this year, ahead of Rivers, Romo, Newton, Stafford, Kaep, and Dalton (all of which were likely taken ahead of him in drafts). Not sure what more you want out of Cutler in terms of fantasy. I made my league 'ship with him.

1. Locking players is a shitty rule.
2. Knowing this rule was in place, why on earth did you go into the playoffs with Drew Stanton as your backup?? I find it hard to believe that was your best option, unless you're in a 20-team league or something weird like that.

in a 10 person league being 9th best is not a viable retort.

what? Sure it is. 9 is a lower number than 10.

I don't think you understand value. Cutler's ADP among QBs was 19. He ended up being 9th best. How are you not getting this?
