Not sure how I feel about this. Two teams make 2 back to back trades to help one of the teams accommodate a roster move. I'm not asking about the trades themselves, just your thoughts on the legality/collusion of the method of the trades.

Team A trades Stewart and Sharpe to team B for Crabtree and Rivers. Team B immediately moves Stewart to their IR spot to free up a bench spot. Then Team A trades Rivers back to team B in exchange for a draft pick.

Basically, the trade is a 2 for 1 with a draft pick. Rivers is only involved to free up a roster spot on team B and allow him to move Stewart to IR without having to drop someone.

Legal because there is a cost (draft pick) or collusion?

seems legal to me since a draft pick is involved.

It seems fine to me, just had to do it in 2 trades to make the mechanics work out.

essentially it was Stewart/Sharpe for Crabtree and a pick...Crabtree has been much more productive than Sharpe so far so that is an upgrade and Stewart while a starter is technically injured and out for some time. Maybe that owner didn't want to drop him for nothing...a pick seems like fair compensation to me.

I can see why it would raise some flags due to how it was executed but it seems legit to me.

Nah, I think that's fine. Something out of the ordinary that merits looking into...but with the conclusion that everything is on the up and up.
