I was just offered Jordy Nelson for Adrian Peterson. Do I take it? I'm very on the fence at the moment but now leaning towards accepting the trade.

Backstory:
I picked up Adrian Peterson in my money league when he was traded to the Cards and his stock is at a season high right now. Aaron Rodgers just had a season ending injury and now Jordy Nelson's stock is at a season low.

I also have David Johnson on my roster and from reports it sounds like he could be back in time for my fantasy league playoffs that begin Week 14. I am 6-0 currently and 3 games ahead of the second place team in our league standings.

So... Do I have anything to lose by trading Adrian Peterson away for Jordy Nelson? I need a WR1 and I think once David Johnson comes back he will likely take back the starting role at the end of the season making AP much less valuable and I would never get to use AP as a starter in the playoffs. I shouldn't have any problem either way finishing in first in the standings with such a comfortable lead at the moment unless my team implodes.

FWIW... the rest of my bench not pictured is Ravens D/ST, Adrian Peterson and Latavius Murray.

is this a joke?

Drop your bias man. Rodgers is out for the year, Jordy is OLD and will probably get hurt.

Did you see how shitty Hundley was?

100% Peterson.

Well those 2 responses so far did not help!

2 opposite ends of the spectrum

I don't see the downside of releasing AP IF David Johnson returns before December 7. He should be the starter when/if he returns.

Keep Peterson, I don't even see why you would consider this. You have a solid group of WR, one of which is D Adams. Do you really want two GB receivers with the qb situation?

AP ain't playing like he did last week every game. Jordy is still the top target, he will get catches. AP is old and injury prone too. I look at it in that he would plug Jordy straight into his lineup, but he has to think of playing AP, meaning Jordy makes his team better.

I guess I see the point that you will cut into your RB depth, maybe package a WR and see if you can get a mid tier RB out of it. I still think I would do this trade.

He has ADAMS.

Who is going to take carries from AP in Zona? They're going to give it to him 15-20 times a game.

Brett Hundley.

I see your point but Im trying to take out the bias of looking at the value of this trade now... I feel confident I am looking at a 1 seed in our playoffs at the moment.

Wouldn't it seem that this trade would pay dividends at the end of the season if Peterson loses his starting role and Jordy and Hundley develop chemistry throughout the season. I read today over 3/4 of Jordy's targets are on throws 10 yards or less so getting him the ball on dinks and dunks sounds like it could end up being the Packers gameplan going forward if they are to remain competitive.

I see your point, and agree it's closer than I made it seem in my first response, but I would still lean to doing it.

I'm not judging Hundley on last week, give him a week or two of first team reps and see what he can do.

Is this PPR?

If not, even more so stick with Peterson.

Jordy's longest catch this year is like 20 yards, with rodgers.

He's past it. Adams is the #1.

Trading Peterson for Jordy is classic sell high/buy low. I'd do it.

My immediate reaction to this trade was #$%@ no!

Then I started thinking of it in this perspective and now I feel like if I did make this trade I'd be getting a first round pick for free type value (J. Nelson was drafted in first round and I just picked up AP from FAs last week).

Its not a PPR league...

After realizing I already had a GB receiver on my bench in D. Adams who is ranked #6 receiver in the league right now, I don't need J. Nelson on roster too. They have a backup qb throwing both of them the ball plus with Hundley as the QB in one game, D. Adams outshined Jordy in that small sample anyway.

Instead I am going to try to trade Peterson for the the #1-#5 ranked receivers in the league one at a time and if no one accepts then no skin off my back and Ill just stick with AP.

What's the overall feeling on Peterson going forward?

I have M Gordon, Gurley, Ingram, Peterson and an Injured Montgomery- Aaron Rodgers.

You want the honest answer?

It’s an 8-team league. Over analyzing is comical. Everyone’s team is stacked in 8-team leagues

Yes and trades are rare since everyone's usually stacked from draft on. First time I've had a trade offer in two years so question arises for that reason and because APs stock right now is ridiculously high.

I think I might be able to get a top 5 receiver for him after one week as a starter so pushing for that since my #1 WR right now is inconsistent in a Saints "spread the ball" offense.
