Need some help. Never been good at streaming TE's due to the boom/bust nature. Stuck with Witten right now, and just dont trust him. Houston TE is available as well as the NYG rookie. Should I stick with Witten or roll with someone else? PPR - lots of teams took 2. Second time for me playing in a mandatory TE league.

I'm inclined to say go with CJ from Houston, but I'm no "guru". Historically rookie TEs do not do well in fantasy. Streaming is all about how many points the opponents give up to the position.

If you really want to show some balls. Austin Hooper could be a good play. I don't remember the exact stat, but the Falcons were top 3 in TE touchdowns or red zone targets to TEs last year. Jacob Tamme is gone and Hooper is the guy this year.

He was drafted. I grabbed McFadden and Elliot owner also has Hooper. He's considering a McFadden for Hooper trade.

I would start Engram over any of the guys mentioned. He will be in line for extra looks as has YAC potential most others don't have

Possibly

Like him better w Odell out

If you're looking for a full time possibility I like Julius Thomas. He's out there in some leagues. Cutler kept Bennett fed in that gase offense in CHI

I think Engram is a sleeper ROY candidate

I need some help at the position as well, would appreciate any advice.

I currently have Gates vs Denver.
Top options remaining are Engram vs Dallas or Clay vs NYJ.

I know one poster already mentioned Engram, but there's always the rookie TE concern, especially in week 1. I think I'm leaning towards sticking with Gates at the moment, but very uncomfortably. Can anybody talk me into one of the other two?

Clay finished 2016 well and the Jets were awful against TEs in 2016. Argument would be Tyrod feels comfortable with Clay since they've been together for several seasons as opposed to little to no chemistry with Mathews/Zay Jones

Without knowing scoring

Cowboys gave up the most receptions and yards in the league last year to TE. Factor in vacated targets from Beckham and we land on Engram. Historically rookie TEs have struggled, but there are opportunities for them to have a good game and this could be one. And really, the more I watch engram the more i consider him a big WR

Gates is TD dependent at this point and is splitting duties w Henry. I just don't see the appeal. Very boring but some people like that

I like Clay more than Gates, id have him and engram pretty close. He's the only real RZ threat and can still put up some rec/yards

Sorry, 0.5 PPR, 1 bonus point for receptions over 40 yards, 2 bonus points for TDs over 40. Rest is standard scoring

Thanks for the advice. One more long-shot name to throw in the mix, how do y'all feel about Njoku? If I'm going rookie TE I'll probably go Engram, but I keep reading equally impressive things about Njoku's athleticism. Does he warrant any consideration with the rest?

Yeah man, you don't want Gates especially with bonus scoring IMO. Agree about Clay, people have been sleeping on him all off season, but that's probably going to be Taylor's favorite target and he has the potential for 40 yard TDs.

I did not buy any stock in Cleveland pass catchers this season. Njoku falls victim to the rookie TE history. He will be sharing time w Seth Devalve, they will have an inefficient rookie *QB, along w Coleman, britt, Louis leaching targets. All signs point to a hard no for me on Njoku

You like Engram as a starter TE with OBJ playing? Curious on your thoughts as to what his ceiling may be. I agree with what you said earlier about hum being a big WR. He had that skillset at Ole Miss. You like him better in a ppr than Howard?

It really depends on other options. I think you're looking at 70-80 targets on the year w healthy Giant WRs. His big play potential could make the most of the opportunities

I do like him better than Howard. Brate was good last year, TB is run centric, and then Evans/DJax and even Humphries out the slot getting targets. I just see OJ as 5th or even 6th in targets on that team. He will show out a few games but I dont foresee consistent numbers

Id go Engram, then Howard, then Njoku if talking rookie TEs.

I mentioned Julius Thomas earlier as a guy I could see emerging as a solid option. Charles Clay, ASJ when he comes off suspension, Watson or Boyle in BAL (remember they threw 672 times last season and Pitta saw 121 targets) are other low key guys Id keep an eye on if you need help at TE

I love Miller, surprised he went undrafted in so many leagues.
