Can y'all explain this to me?
Last night Tanaka leaves the game tied 0-0 with 1 man on 1st that he's responsible for. 1 out, I think. Anyway, that guy reaches third with 1 out and is thrown out at home on a fielders choice. So now there's 2 outs, runner at 1st. Is that runner at 1st also Tanaka's responsibility? That runner would wind up scoring and Tanaka took the loss. Why would Tanaka be responsible for that run?

Its bc of the fielders choice. It doesn't retire a "specific runner" because the batter could have been out just as easily as the guy thrown out at home. Thus, since Tanaka left the 1 guy on, the guy who reached on the FC essentially swapped spots with the guy thrown out at home

That's the nature of head to head. All I can do is say good week and give g$ a round of applause. His team killed it. I would be okay with 4-6.
