I am mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. I was proposed a trade this morning by the player in 6th (last spot in the playoffs). Should I consider the trade as part of playing until the end of the season, or should I just hold what I got and just manage my current roster? It's not a keeper league, so this will have no bearing on anything after this season.

FWIW- The offer is Barnidge for M. Bennett and Charles Sims. I've been hurting at RB all season long (Hyde, Alf. Morris, Alf. Blue, traded for J. Hill because CIN was going to "lean on him" down the stretch). I'm not convinced it's even a good trade, but it would help me this week with a bunch of players on bye.

There are runningbacks on the waiver wire / free agency that offer as much as simms does on a one week basis. You would basically just be helping him out by improving his TE.

Don't trade if you're eliminated

If you're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, don't trade.

This.

I was offered 3 different trades and turned down all of them. Out of the playoffs and I'm not helping anyone get better.

Don't trade when eliminated, only use FA to keep your team competitive.

Also, I agree that this is not that good of a trade. You would need a much better RB to even consider.

You shouldn't be able to trade once you are mathematically eliminated.

Depends if there's a bottom feeder fine and/or consolation prizes(weekly high scoring and whatnot).

Yea that would change things.

I am 2-8 and 12/12 in one of my leagues. But my roster is

RB
Peterson
McFadden
Langford
Yeldon

WR
Alshon
AJ Green
Maclin

Teams have been hitting me up with deals left and right trying to prey off of my position in the standings, but Ive declined since Im done.

As long as it is in good faith, I say go for it. I much rather somebody stay competive and try, than stop giving a shite or half arse it.

In general, I feel that you should be able to trade as long as everyone else. Just because you are eliminated that doesn't mean you shouldn't want to improve your team. By beating other teams that are on the bubble, you can have an impact on the playoffs.

But obviously I don't agree with giving players to another team in an unfair trade.

I completely agree. It's only fair to run your team the same all season.
