Can someone unsell me on Keenan Allen? Pretty high on him this year, and hoping he falls to me in round 3. Opposite of you guys I guess.

He had an absurdly high catch rate last season. That is likely to drop, but then again, it could just mean he has amazing hands. I see no reason to sell on Allen unless you are taking him over Jordy Nelson or a superior option.

Dude I told him to keep Patterson.

And I never said either were marginal. Just that nothing is a given, and I'd want to keep at least 2 sure things.

Patterson isn't guaranteed another monster return season, but I like him a lot this year

Keenan Allen and Jeffery. With Thomas, Allen, Jeffery it gives you three potential/probable top 15 guys on one team and you WR corps is pretty much set before draft even starts. Go best available RB/TE from first round on and you will end up with a monster squad. Not believing the Patterson hype. I dont trust Bridgewater yet.

all - great input - very helpful for confirming my thoughts, just kept second guessing myself

haha - ya our Keepers are set up kind of crazy -

-each year you can keep 3 players
-cant keep anyone drafted in the 1st 3 rounds period
-for each keeper you have to give up 3 rounds prior in next years draft
-players have to be on your roster at end of season, regardless of Free Agency, whenever they are drafted, they retain that rate (ie David Wilson is drafted 5rd, dropped, pickup up via FA, next year you give up a 2nd rounder to keep him)
-maximum you can keep a player on your team is 3 years

I had Demaryius Thomas for 2 seasons originally got him at pick 13

Alshon Jefferies was a 9th round pick last year, I got him via trade, so I can keep him for a 6th

Montee Ball was drafted in the 7th last year and dropped so I can keep him in the 4th --- next year I could keep him as a 1st if I wanted, but then he would go back into the draft pool (no keepers rounds 1-3)

Allen, Patterson, Maclin -- I picked up FA last year, so they cost me a 13 this year, but if I kept 2 of them it would be a 13th and 12th

kind of confusing I know, but our group really seems to like it, kind of a dynasty/keeper blend with some elite players always available and rewards good FA pick ups, which cost $, and smart drafting

I like that system alot. We just have a cap at the 6th round regardless of draft round from previous year. If player is kept 2 years in a row, it's automatic 1st round pick. I much prefer yours.

No, it seems logical and makes sense now that I know how it works. Just wasn't sure form earlier.

With the whole, no keeping 1-3 round players, I'm assuming there will be some pretty good RBs available in the first round and a half or so? In that case I'd keep Jeffrey over Ball then. (Patterson is still a lock/ no-brainer with your scoring setting and the fact that you could perceivably have him on your roster for the next 4-5 years. ).

DT/Jeffrey/Patt + pick 1, 2, 3, 4, in a solid draft, is the way to go here IMO
