Talk me off the ledge here. Is Dalton going to continue this success? KC seems to give up a good amount of passing yards.

Its hard to bench Manning but with Dalton racking up the points on the bench its tough to pass up.

I'm starting Dalton this week. Figure how bad kc's defense has been looking, and how good AJ green is, he's the right man for the job.

(Brady is also on bye)

Denver is at home against Minnesota
Cincy is at home against the Chiefs

I think Denver could run Minny out of that building. The Denver Defense just has to contain AP long enough to build a lead...if they make Minny go 1 dimensional the AP factor almost goes completely out the window.

The Chiefs can give Cincy fits all day.

Edit: The only question is who is going to be throwing the Denver TD's Peyton or Bridgewater

I usually like your opinions and think you're a solid poster, but that's just a bad argument. So he should start Peyton just because he's had a better career? By this logic, I should be starting Mike Vick over Andrew Luck because he's been to more pro-bowls.

ETA: Unless you were joking, in which case I retract.

my bad. I misconveyed my point.

Peyton is Peyton...slow starts happen, Denver is going to fix that offense.

Dalton has gotten streaky in the past and fizzled. Dalton has had a great start this season however I think that has more to do with the running game struggling...which I also expect to get fixed.

Peyton can go crazy in any game he plays...Dalton is more likely to have a ceiling.

I would play Peyton over Dalton due to Denver playing at home against an Offense I expect to struggle. AP is going up against one of the best defenses in the league...probably one of the few that can contain him.

I do not believe Bridgewater is capable of leading that team to a win in Denver against Manning.

Jamal Charles has been red hot. He is going to eat clock against Cincy and Alex Smith can manage games. I expect between both offenses that game to be pretty low scoring.

OK, I get you now.

I agree with some points, but not with all. I'm not convinced that Peyton isn't done. He's been bad for half the season so far and decent/good for the other half. When I've watched him play this year, he just doesn't look like himself anymore. I think there's a good chance he's done. But he does have very good weapons around him. If he gets the ball to Sanders, he can get YAC and Thomas is so good with body control and is so big, if Peyton gets it in his vicinity, Thomas should come down with it.

Your argument about the defenses doesn't necessarily support your point, IMO. If Denver's defense shuts down Min, they might opt to try to run the ball more to get the running game back on track for the season.

Dalton, on the other hand, has looked good because he has the best weapons he's had in a long time, IMO. AJ looks great, Eifert has broken out, Marvin Jones has finally come around, etc. I agree that Dalton has been up and down in the past, but I think this season he's more likely to maintain than in the past.

ETA: To clarify, I'm not arguing against Peyton, I think they are both good plays this week, I just don't think the decision is a slam dunk for Peyton.

Green has always been great. He would have better numbers if Dalton had been more consistent his entire career.(former Green owner)

I think Denver will try to get the running game going but Minnesota excluding week 1 has been a pretty feisty bunch in stopping it.

I think the defense argument does support my argument. If Denver can build a lead...they would have more liberty to find ways to incorporate the running game...if they find success doing so that is when Peyton is at his best. We like to think players like Peyton, Brees, Brady do not like to stat pad however most of them when the opportunity presents itself do just that.

Look at what the Pats just did to Jax on the road just last week...that game could have ended much earlier with a much more modest yet still commanding score...they were still punching in TDs late in the 4th running it up.

Peyton is undoubtedly playing what appears to be his final season...If the opportunity presents itself I fully expect him to try to put a bow on one of the finest careers in NFL history.

Dalton on the other hand will be forced to hand the ball off a lot if that running game gets on track.
