It's too unbalanced because players make nothing in their first three years and well below the market rate for their next three.
The best player in baseball will make like $500,000 next year
I appreciate the input but I'm not really sure about the unbalanced comment. Yes whoever gets the number 1 overall pick will get Mike Trout, which will be a clear advantage. But after that it's pretty much fair game as far as who you draft.
The entire reason I wanted to add another layer of depth and strategy to the long grind that is fantasy baseball. Right now the strategy is adjusting your roster each day, drafting the best players available, and making smart and timely waiver wire decisions.
I wanted to make the owners think about the financial implications of each move they make, it will be a fantasy game about making money/profit almost as much as it is about winning. Which simulates certain situations real life owners and General Managers have to face. If the first half of your season does not go so well do you try and cut costs and trade some of your big buck guys for lower priced "prospects." This is the type of situation I am trying to create that you do not generally get out of the normal fantasy setup.
Here is a list of a writers Top 30 fantasy players and their salaries next season. Yes there are a fewer lower priced steals out there, it's each owners decisions to weigh the costs/production values of each player.
