Rob Gronkowski has been running for a while now. That the Pats put him in view of the media today is interesting.

NFL suspended Vikings FB Jerome Felton three games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Felton was arrested for DUI last summer. His Week 1 status was already in some doubt due to an emergency appendectomy, so at least the brief ban will give Felton an opportunity to be 100-percent healthy upon his return. Felton earned Pro Bowl honors in 2012, clearing lanes in front of NFL leading rusher Adrian Peterson.

if AP isn't the same the first few weeks, make a move for him from a disgruntled owner who is thinking "I knew I should have taken Martin"

According to FOX Sports Wisconsin, Jordy Nelson "didn't seem slowed whatsoever" in his return to practice following a knee scope.
Nelson beat double coverage for an 85-yard touchdown pass, which got Aaron Rodgers excited. "He had to go about 50 yards to get that deep one in the air across the field," Rodgers said. "So it was fun to see him run that one down." Nelson should be treated as if he were never injured. He's an ideal WR2.

Coach John Fox said Montee Ball was moved to the first-team offense at Monday's practice because the Broncos want to give him a longer look with the starters.
Ball has taken 25 percent of the first-team reps since OTAs, but on Monday -- Denver's first practice after Ronnie Hillman's third preseason fumble -- Ball was the go-to back with Peyton Manning's group. "We're evaluating everybody regardless of who gets what reps at what number," said Fox. "So, (Ball) is a guy that we want to get some touches and we'll go from there." Ball is on track to get the nominal "start" and handle 15-plus touches in Week 1 against the Ravens.

NFL suspended Jets RB Mike Goodson four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
The suspension is for Goodson's highly publicized May arrest. The Jets should consider it a positive they'll have Goodson's services at all after he was AWOL for all of training camp for unspecified reasons. Look for Chris Ivory to open the season as New York's primary early-down back, with Bilal Powell mixing in as a change-of-pace complement and passing-down player. When Goodson returns, he'll compete in practice for offensive snaps.
