Traded for him yesterday. The trade was Carr/Gore/Moncrief for Wentz/Howard/Shepard

Effectively for me it was an attempt at upgrading at RB from Gore to Howard. Gore has been solid but liked Howard's upside.
Didn't like giving up Moncrief, but he really wanted him and Shepard in return was acceptable.
Probably drop Wentz for a TE with Reed probably out.

New lineup .5ppr

QB: Brees
WR: OBJ
WR: TY
RB: Shady
RB: Howard
TE: Reed
Flex: Blount
Bench: Enunwa, Meredith, Hogan, T. Williams, Wentz, Shepard

Have lost on the year Keenan Allen, Moncrief, Vereen, Josh Gordon.

Also traded Tevin Coleman for TY Hilton 3 weeks ago. Needed a WR after losing both Allen and Moncrief.

I think he's a locked and loaded RB1 until Langford comes back. Once Langford is back I think he's still a legit RB2 with RB1 upside.

Looking at this trade and your team, I think this was just a fancy way of trading Carr/Gore/Moncrief for Howard. Sharpe is droppable and is at best your 5th WR right now. Wentz is essentially useless for you since you have Brees.

That being said, Carr was mostly useless for you as well, Howard is a big upgrade from Gore, and you have two good WRs already to start, so it wasn't a bad trade.

This was a great trade even if done today. Very surprised you were able to do this 3 weeks ago, so congrats on that one.

He had green, marvin Jones, dez, fuller, Hilton and NO RBs. I was content with fuller but that was after the first few weeks when Hilton did poor and fuller did well. Worked well for me.

Ah ok. That makes the trade better for you. Either way, I think it worked out fine for you. You got the better player in Howard. He's probably happy as well since he got 3 startable players. So a fairly even trade and you're both probably happy.

Don't think Langford steals any carries. Howard has broken more tackles in two games than Langford has in two years.

Had this conversation in another thread. No NFL team is giving a guy all the carries unless they have no other option. Howard is very likely going to remain their #1 back, but when Langford gets back he'll get 5-8 touches a game. You should expect Howard to get something more in the range of 15 touches a game instead of the 20-25 he's getting right now.

It's certainly possible that Langford comes back and is awful, leaving Howard to continue with this volume, but that is unlikely. Even if that happens, expect at least a week or two of Langford getting some touches, thus taking some touches away from Howard.

Howard is playing 93% of the snaps, averaging 23 touches for almost 150 yards in his two starts

Langford is terrible. I could see him getting worked in if he brought something to the table, but he has no redeeming qualities. Kadeem Carey is going to stay as their 2nd option, Langford is done.

Howard has been playing at such an effective level since taking over. Fox was very publicly frustrated with Langford and his overall production going back to even last year.

At this point it is Howard's Job. Unless he starts missing holes, fumbling, and doing dumb things I expect them to feed him at least 20 times a game.

I love his draft profile and the way he is running and producing against NFL competition. Him and Hoyer are feeding off each other and the Chicago offense is somewhat thriving. The fact that Hoyer is playing so well IMO makes him more valuable than some of the 1st to 2nd round RB's that were taken in the draft.

I do not think he is matchup proof but I plan on playing him almost every single week.

I agree with this. I pretty much agree with everything you said except I expect him to be more around the 15 touch mark when Langford comes back. If Langford sucks it up than he'll get back to the 20-25 level after a week or two.

Which RB are matchup proof? Bell?

Langford catching balls, PPR he's a must start just as much as anyone
