Guess I'm in the minority here. I would rather have Roark than Meadows. That said, in Deebz case, because how his team is constructed, it probably would made more sense to keep Meadows and see he becomes a good fantasy player. Should be a solid real life player.

Roark doesnt get any respect

The only reason i didnt have a problem letting him go is, he isnt going to tilt my staff one way or another. I need 3-4 of these young guys to be serviceable, regardless.

I know you have pop so not trading Stanton for an ace was your major fail here

I get that, but people are stingy as hell in this league about SP's so easier said than done. I mean, I get it, bc it would be tough to get CarMart off me too bc I would have nothing without him. And he isn't even an ace. SP's are to this league what closers are in the DATBL.

So when do you guys start pumping out some league rankings/projections?

I'm trying out a sabermetrics based ranking using steamer projections where I use wOBA for ranking the bats and simple WAR for pitching. The only problem is wOBA doesn't take into account NSB.

I'm not posting it yet, but I'm not too far off I think. It loves T&P and most of the playoff teams from last season. It has Gyno and OMT in the playoffs and Rondo and Redd out.

Solid ranking methodology, IMO

I don't think it's stingy, it's just no one wants to move one bat for one SP.

I could be off base, but IMO MadBum easily equals Giloito vs Polanco. But our Stanton price was MadBum plus.

That's just example. Majority of the offers we get on our aces has us adding another peice.

Pitchers are just more volatile with injuries and regression. I think a hitter will always bring more. 80% of the top 50 of most dynasty rankings are hitters.

in a dynasty though? MadBum = a Polanco imo

naw reddfigg said madbum/story on the board, dont make me out to be an unreasonable mate. I think i didnt expect an astronomical return for stanton which I think was evident by the return i got. I was looking at a 2 for 1, though, so if you felt you couldnt add a piece to a SP that was our hangup.

I can't believe the value people have on pitchers in this league. Of course, I might be a little extreme to where I give zero fricks about a pitcher. Might need start giving one or two fricks

Ive always said pitching is important in this league, but I would never go out and pay to get a Kershaw (even though that was a good deal for Kershaw imo)

ive always in the camp of, if im doing a pitcher for hitter deal that's close to equal, i always want to get a small kick back if im getting the pitcher. IE we swap Jupton for Keuchel, you kicked in a Didi. It eases the risk you take when getting an SP

What a waste of free time. That Folty trade added 1.8 WAR to RDR's pitching staff vaulting him up like 5 spots.

It's a shite formula if Mike Foltynewicz can cause that kind of shift.

Plus it hated my team.

You need to do the Toula/Redfig standard deviations to the mean WAR.

Odds are there are not many "replacement" pitchers on rotations.

Folty is definitely worth 5 spots in the standings
