For those dumb enough to draft Doug Martin. What do you do with him now?

I'm one of those people. It seems like every day this guys value cascades like a boulder rolling downhill. Can you start him with faith tonight after reading this?

quote:

The Tampa Bay Times says Bobby Rainey will start Thursday's game against the Falcons.

"Not just because of Doug Martin's knee. Coaches really like [Rainey]," said beat writer Rick Stroud. To be clear, this looks like educated speculation, not sourced reporting. Coach Lovie Smith has declined to name a starter, only saying he wants to use a committee. But it's not that far-fetched to think that the Bucs want to ride Rainey's hot hand after he put up 174 total yards on 25 touches in Week 2. It's a messy situation, but at this point we'd give Rainey the edge as the better flex play in this cake matchup. Martin is averaging a pathetic 3.41 YPC over the last two seasons (seven games).

Just gotta expect RB2/3 numbers. Play another FLEX if you can just to see how these shares will go.

Let him ride the bench until he has a fluky big game then sell high.

no one in my league is dumb enough to buy on him. I have him at the flex now in place of Michael Floyd, who is saddled with a case of the Drew Stantonitus

Guy in my league just dropped Martin. Is he worth grabbing and stashing just in case?

In a year where RBs are dropping like flies, yes.

i'm not cutting him yet. Rainey isn't the biggest guy and has been prone to injury. Hopefully he finds room to run vs ATL tonight and Rainey blows a tire and or gets arrested for domestic violence.

Grab Rainey if it's not too late or hope that Rainey gets injured.

it's week 3. I didn't draft him, but I felt he was great if he fell to the 2nd pick of the 3rd round in an 8 man...he didn't

he went early second in my 10 man league

with that said, I am expecting rainey to take the job and never look back

martin's leash for injury and/or poor performance is very short

According NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Doug Martin (knee) is unlikely to play in Thursday night's game against the Falcons.

Martin will test out his knee pregame before the Bucs make his status official. But it's now crystal clear that Bobby Rainey is a borderline RB1 play against a Falcons defense that has already given up 284 yards and five touchdowns to opponent tailbacks. Reports already had the hot Rainey, growing into a coaching staff favorite, in line to start the game. He also started against the Falcons in Week 11 of last year, going for 167 total yards on 32 touches and scoring three touchdowns.

That settles that debate

Just picked up Rainey in both leagues. I had ADP and DM in one. I need some serious help now.

If Rainey goes crazy tonight, martin will surely get dropped in a lot of leagues

Didnt rainey choke last year when he was "the man"? I seem to remember grabbing him and he wasn't worth 5 pts consistently. might be confusing him though

i think his value is being overstated by him having one good game. he was pretty terrible in week 1 aside from the td he got.
