ESPN playoff tie. Should go to bench but now does not higher seed instead. Opinions?

Looks like all ties go to the bench during the season but in playoffs the higher seed goes.
We are having a long chat discussion in my league because this happened. There is a vote ongoing. Seems like it should be bench but cannot go back at this point maybe in the future. Opinions?

Always the higher seed

Bench is dumb.

higher seed is better but needs to go by what the rules stated before the game either way

Why is there a vote?

Defer to whatever the setting is. Can’t change it now.

Our tiebreaker in playoffs is points scored

This is why I say. Cannot change it now. This group is new to me and does not effect me in anyway but commissioner put it to a vote. Seems that it always used to be bench and that was the understanding from the past with those that have been a part of this league for a while. I think it will stay as is.

I like the way yahoo does it

They do best regular season record vs opponent wins

I think bench scoring is the most unfair way to decide for what it’s worth
