I would drop Bortles and pick up both in your situation

Think I might drop Montgomery and take a flier on Jackson. I'm starting to think he has a better chance to be a long term contributor in a standard league.

sounds like you may have the luxury of test driving a jackson tonight and if he falters you can just add davis or starks later

Yeah I'm going to forego any involvment in the GB running back circus. My team is now

QB: Ryan
RB: Ware, Tevin, Martin, Jacquizz, Gillislee
WR: Antonio Brown, DT88, TY, Meredith
TE: Gronk, Eifert, Kelce

A lot of unknown and good matchups. I don't know who to start anymore

I think I do. Have the following ahead of any of the GB prospects.

RB: Miller, Ingram, Michael, Martin, Rodgers, Gillislee
WR: Hopkins, Jordy, Dez, Crabtree, Meredith, Michael Thomas, Corey Coleman (IR), Moncrief (IR)

So I'm looking to add either Jackson or Montgomery to the end of the list as a speculative lottery pick, but don't need to start them this week.

I'm thinking Jackson has the better chance to be a long term contributor if he actually blows up. Montgomery is valuable in a PPR, less so in a standard and he won't take snaps at RB all season. They'll get Starks back or get Davis or Jackson going.

Montgomery = short term fill in
Jackson = risky long term lottery pick

Regardless of Knile Davis' perceived talent, in 9 career games with 10+ touches, he's been below RB27 just once with four top-10 games.

Im sure you saw this note on Davis the other day, so it isn't all bad

Haven't watched much Packers, but I thought I read Starks has been pretty bad so far this year.

Just think there's a chance that Jackson is the next Howard. Rookie that gets a shot and runs away with it.

Montgomery might have some play over the next few weeks, but he isn't a long term solution at RB, and he's the 4th WR. So that limits his value long term.

Now that Lacy is on IR, I think I'm dropping all GB running backs and picking up Jacquizz Rodgers for this week and platooning RBs from here on out.

Montgomery doesn't have RB eligibility on Yahoo. Im playing him at my Flex tonight and will keep him for a few weeks.

I didn't drop Lacy, just soved him to my IR spot until we know more. Could possibly get him back for fantasy playoffs

Davis isn't expected to see a lot of time against the Bears because he just arrived in town Tuesday and barely knows the offense. The Packers probably will create a package of 10 plays or so that Davis is able to run. He said this week that there were some things that carried over from the Chiefs' offense.

Jackson, on the other hand, should be able to step in right away and run anything the Packers have in their offense. He was with the team during the off-season, and while he was cut just before training camp because of a broken jaw, he was signed to the practice squad right after the final cuts.

He has spent the past six weeks getting both scout team and first-team work. With Lacy and Starks both ailing last week, he got a fair amount of reps with the No. 1 offense in practice.

The Packers also plan on using Montgomery a fair amount in the backfield. Last week against Dallas, Montgomery played 35 snaps, including 22 at the running back position, and led all receivers with 10 catches for 98 yards. He only had six yards on two carries, however. Montgomery, who played running back in high school, said he has been working for the past couple of weeks to get the running back position down. He fumbled twice against the Cowboys, one of which was lost, and said he has to get used to running in traffic more.

Putting Lacy on injured reserve means he'll miss a minimum of eight weeks and may not play again for the Packers. Lacy is an unrestricted free agent after this season and it's possible the Packers won't use their one option to return a player from injured reserve to the 53-man roster on Lacy.

Besides the injury, the Packers will have to evaluate whether Lacy has done enough to keep himself in good condition to return to the football field. Lacy has battled a weight issues and won't be on the practice field for two months. The Packers undoubtedly will set up a program for Lacy to stay in shape while his ankle heals.

The Packers believe Lacy could be healthy enough to return to action in Week 15 against the Bears at Soldier Field. That is the same week that cornerback Sam Shields would be available to return. Shields was put on injured reserve this week after missing five weeks with a concussion and will also be eligible for return in Week 15.

If things go well with Jackson and Davis, the Packers may want to use their one "designated to return" option on Shields.

Not sure he's coming back this year. And he'd come back in time to play the Bears and Vikings.
