Drafting question about a few players

I have the 3rd pick in 8 team ppr league (i know some hate 8 team leagues, but whatever. we like it). It is a snake draft. I'm looking pretty good at getting solid RBs my first 2 picks. My question is coming back around for my 3rd pick....theres obviously a lot to choose from, would it be worth it to go ahead and get one of the top 3 QBs in this spot or take one of the top WRs...looking like Antonio Brown, Jordy Nelson....those tier WRs. I know once my 4th pick comes, I'll just have to wait until later rounds to pick up a QB as I'm sure they will be gone by my 4th pick.
Preciate the help
Should also be noted, we get 1 point for every 20 passing yards, but only 5 points for TD passes

Id definitely go with a top RB then WR or TE if Graham happens to still be on the board. Worry about QB later you can get a top 5 guy in rounds 4-6

Thanks! I actually tried to do a mock, picking up Brees, and I wasn't left with much for top WRs (by 8 team standards)

While on the subject, who do y'all like out of Kendall Wright, Torry Smith, and Edelman in ppr?

PPR, Edelman and Wright should be pretty close.
I'd prob take Edelman though.

Posters on here hate Edelman for some reason. I have both Edelman and Wright in a 12 team ppr league. I'm starting Edelman in the slot. Over the course of the year they should be fairly even (unless Gronk and Amendola get injured again, then it's Edelman).
Torrey Smith, on the other hand, is clearly Flacco's favorite wr. He may not put up as many receptions as the other 2, but he will likely have more yards. It really comes down to owner preference I guess.

I think Smith will be a better value than smith this year. YOu prob can get him late and it seems like he will be a big part of the offense.

Yea, I kinda feel the same about all of them. thanks for the help fellas!

I don't like this strategy this year. My teams have looked better when I take RB in the 1st, followed by WR/WR. I have even gone RB/WR/WR/TE or RB/WR/WR/QB if Gronk, J. Thomas, Brees, or Rodgers somehow fall to the 4th. If that happens, I take RB/RB in the 5th and 6th and always love my roster. My main reasoning is that while I love the top RBs, I don't like the 2nd round RBs much better than the 4th or 5th round RBs.
Using my method in an 8 teamer could net you:
1st McCoy/Charles/Peterson
2nd AJ Greene/Marshall/Julio
3rd A. Brown/Jeffrey/Jordy
4th Gronk/J Thomas/Brees/Rodgers
5th and 6th R Bush/Vereen/Jennings/Spiller/Gerhart/Joique/B Tate
I also usually pick up Pierre Thomas later in the draft as his ADP is extremely low, and he could easily perform as a RB2 with his receptions.
You know your league better than I, and drafts always go differently, but the roster above would be pretty tough to beat.
For fun, I did an 8 man simulated mock with this philosophy and got the following with my 1st 7 picks:
1. J Charles
2. AJ Green
3. B Marshall
4. Brees (not likely if you draft in Louisiana)
5. A Johnson
6. S. Vereen
7. J Bell
I'll take that lineup any day. Enjoy your championship.
BTW: I'm very old school, and am the king of the RB heavy draft. I just don't see the value there this year. Stud RBs are thin, but that next tier is very deep thanks to all of the RBBCs. WR, on the other hand, looks like RB did 10 years ago. There are probably 12 studs (of whom I want as many as possible, then a pretty sizeable drop-off to the next tier.

dude, that was a pretty spot on write up. I'll definitely go that route, and do a few mocks myself with that strategy! I really appreciate that!

I just a mock using this strategy. Definitely might need to play with a few more. This is what I ended up with (how high up is stafford really worth. i didnt wanna take him in the 4th)
