if i knew Ricky Williams address I would send him the biggest batch possible of weed brownies to keep him off the fricking field. Ronnie Brown is gonna have a year where he is fully healthy and working for a big paycheck unfortunately Ricky will be along for that ride as well. He will put up late first early second numbers and can be had in the 4th round

No return in sight for Rice: Vikings WR Sidney Rice continues to deal with a lingering hip injury and doesn't appear to be returning to practice anytime soon. Head coach Brad Childress said Tuesday that Rice is "a ways off" from being back. He is currently on the physically unable to perform list. Rice has said recently that he expects to be ready for the start of the season.

Vikings get tough with Harvin: The Minnesota Vikings sent AWOL WR Percy Harvin a "five-day letter," according to several media outlets. That letter means he has five days to report to camp or faces the prospect of being fined or suspended. It comes on the heels of a Minneapolis Star-Tribune report that the club had received a roster exemption for Harvin and indicated that his absence may not end any time soon. Harvin has not been with the team since his grandmother died in July and the team has said he has been at home in the Twin Cities ever since, dealing with migraine headaches. He has had several bouts with migraines, even missing a game last season because of the malady. However, he has never missed as much time because of migraines as he has in recent weeks.

Shiancoe doesn't play Friday: Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe did not travel with the team to St. Louis for Saturday's preseason opener against the Rams. He has missed several days of practice due to an undisclosed injury.

actually man, i think you should go best available, best available, best available, best available, best available, best available, best available, and then when you get into the much later rounds fill out your roster. dont pigeon hole yourself.

but then again, i hope all the owners in the league im in are like you.

i hear ya. Well who are your top overall picks? I dont really know how to pick overall players. But i can figure out position. How can u tell if a QB will get more poitns than a RB?

i plugged my league scoring into an online site that projects stats for each player. based on those stats, the projected amount of points the player will generate is then ratio'd against all other players for that position for a "weighted" score. that is how i rank my picks. ill show you my top 50.

1 Chris Johnson RB TEN
2 Maurice Jones-Drew RB JAX
3 Ray Rice RB BAL
4 Adrian Peterson RB MIN
5 Frank Gore RB SF
6 Steven Jackson RB STL
7 DeSean Jackson WR PHI
8 Andre Johnson WR HOU
9 Reggie Wayne WR IND
10 Larry Fitzgerald WR ARI
11 Aaron Rodgers QB GB
12 DeAngelo Williams RB CAR
13 Randy Moss WR NE
14 Drew Brees QB NO
15 Miles Austin WR DAL
16 Brandon Marshall WR MIA
17 Michael Turner RB ATL
18 Pierre Thomas RB NO
19 Calvin Johnson WR DET
20 Ryan Mathews RB SD
21 LeSean McCoy RB PHI
22 C.J. Spiller RB BUF
23 Roddy White WR ATL
24 Peyton Manning QB IND
25 Greg Jennings WR GB
26 Rashard Mendenhall RB PIT
27 Knowshon Moreno RB DEN
28 Dallas Clark TE IND
29 Jamaal Charles RB KC
30 Wes Welker WR NE
31 Shonn Greene RB NYJ
32 Chris Wells RB ARI
33 Reggie Bush RB NO
34 Ryan Grant RB GB
35 Tom Brady QB NE
36 Marques Colston WR NO
37 Matt Forte RB CHI
38 Matt Schaub QB HOU
39 Steve Smith WR CAR
40 Cedric Benson RB CIN
41 Tony Romo QB DAL
42 Steve Smith WR NYG
43 Dez Bryant WR DAL
44 Jonathan Stewart RB CAR
45 Philip Rivers QB SD
46 Darren Sproles RB SD
47 Joseph Addai RB IND
48 Justin Forsett RB SEA
49 Anquan Boldin WR BAL
50 Felix Jones RB DAL

So im in a 10 team league with 17 roster spots.

Each week we start:

1 qb
2 rb
2 wr
2 "flex" rb or wr
1 TE
1 K
1 Def

i am in a PPR league (a league that gives Points Per Reception, so RB's and WR's are usually more powerful than qb's)

As my draft unfolds, I will always defer to this list, and I will also have an "average draft projection list" that shows me what players are likely to be picked next. Also, I will be keeping track of what positions are already being filled by the owners of other teams, so I can get an idea of who may be available when I get to pick.

That being said, I will probably pick the best WR's/RB's early in my draft because each week I have to start SIX of them. QB, TE, K, and defense arnt going to be priority picks for me, unless I can steal one that has fallen well below average draft position, and is high on my list (which isnt very likely.)

What is more likely is getting 2 mediocre QBs, 2 mediocre TE's, 2 mediocre K's, and 2 mediocre DEF and rotate them each week and fill these positions "by committee." That way I hopefully get 6 stud RBs and/or WR's +3 backup RBs and/or WR's, and then 8 other spots for what I deem less important positions, based on my leagues scoring.

that is my strategy for this years draft. by the way, my draft order is subject to change throughout the preseason up until the draft which is 11 days away.
