Does anyone here use a non head to head format on CBS?

My league is considering abondoning the head to head format because we end up with a high seed that is last in points almost every year, so I am trying to figure out my options on CBS. In the league setup I see two options, and I'm not sure which one is best. One option is to have 9 matchups per week so that you play everyone every week (so standings will be according to the breakdown record), and the other option I see is Ranked (points based). I am assuming in the Ranked system, top 5 scores get a W and bottom 5 scores get a L each week? Is that accurate? Does anybody have experience with these options and which one is better? TIA
