With everyone who was chatting in the DFS thread on MSB about the scandal that happened it seems we have alot of players here. If yall want I can do a write up about the games each week. You can add in as well.

A little about me. I played last year but never studied anything. Id look at match up rankings on Draftkings and base my teams on that. I had minimal success but still turned a profit. This year I decided I'd create a spreadsheet for football. Im still working on it as Im trying to build in projected ownership to build an optimal lineup.

Fist lets look at last weeks millionaire winners line ups.

Draftkings
QB Blake Bortles – 19.02 (1%)
RB Matt Forte – 18.5 (17.5%)
RB Devonta Freeman – 37.9 (16.1%)
WR Amari Cooper – 14.9 (33.5%)
WR DeAndre Hopkins – 27.7 (10.1%)
WR Allen Hurns – 31.6 (2.6%)
TE Charles Clay – 18.3 (19.6%)
FLEX Demaryius Thomas – 18.3 (9.8%)
DEF Seahawks – 9 (12%)

Amari was the only player above 20% ownership. His stacking of Bortles and Hurns paid off due to ownership and salary. A QB WR stack at $9,000 is very low. One of the highest stacks was Rodgers/Cobb which used up $15,300 and got 25.66 pts.

FanDuel
QB Philip Rivers – 26.22 (3.5%)
RB Devonta Freeman – 35.4 (12.5%)
RB Karlos Williams – 14.5 (42.1%)
WR DeAndre Hopkins – 20.2 (12.9%)
WR Demaryius Thomas – 13.8 (9.1%)
WR Keenan Allen – 15.2 (10.4%)
TE Martellus Bennett – 19.8 (14.5%)
K Graham Gano – 13 (3.3%)
DEF Panthers – 18 (9.1%)

Only 1 player used over 13% ownership. Rivers Allen stack was an average salary wise so he was able to get one high salary player paired with a bunch of middle ones.

That shows why the scandal was such a big deal IMO.

On to the games.

Colts @ Texans

There are only a few players that should be thought here. Fleener/Allen, Gore, and Hopkins. If Luck plays they should keep it simple to short throws making the TE and Gore valuable. On the other side, Houston will try to see what Foster has before the game and if he is healthy they should pound him all night. But due to have no passing game, the box will be stacked vs the run vs Foster. Hopkins should get his 10-15 targets this week again. Hopkins will be low owned IMO based on his price tag. So he could be one to look at.

Bears at Chiefs

IF Cutler and Jeffreys are playing, I see them being highly owned. KC sucks vs the pass. They give up almost 300 ypg and around 30 ppg. I can se this stack being very highly owned due to the price tag being so low. Charles on the other side is going up against the 24th rank rush defense and 31st scoring defense. He is highly over priced and will go low owned. Like Hopkins could be a pick that nobody will take with a chance for a good game.

Jeffreys no practice Thursday. Royal too. If they can't go I will be pounding Cutler Wilson or Cutler Bennett. It's being reported Jeffrey's is out. I'm adding Forte to a couple line ups and pounding Bennett on a bunch. Also Wilson should have very high upside being low owned.

Redskins @ Falcons

Really dont like anyone here for Atl. A Ryan Julio stack is too expensive. Plus they go up against a stout defense. A Cousins Jackson if healthy or Cousins Garcon stack isnt that bad tho. Cheap and huge upside vs a very poor defense vs the pass. I will have one stack with those.

Looks like no Jackson. My friend is very high on Crowder if u need a cheap wr flex with huge upside. He partnered him with Ryan Julio.

Hawks @ Bengals

Staying away from everyone in this game

Saints @ Eagles

This game has some great match ups that will be low owned. Brees Cooks is a good one that will be low owned with a good upside match up. Ingram will be low owned vs a mid tier rush d. On the other side I love a rusher from the Eagles. Either Murray or Sproles. Murray should be highly owned while Sproles low.

Browns @ Ravens

I absolutely love this match up. Flacco stack with either healthy Smith or Aiken(Smith doubtful so likely Aiken) gives you a ton of cap room for top players. I dont like stacking QB and WR with a RB but Forsett sets up well vs a terrible rush D. Max Williams may be a good upside play thats cheap and will under 1% owned if Gilmore cant go. Im off Cleveland even tho Barnidge is still low salaried. Baltimore is #1 vs TE.

Smith officially out.

Jags @ Bucs

Yeldon Yeldon and more Yeldon please. Although he will be highly owned he may be a must get. Either one of these D's should bode well for around 10 pts which is good.

Rams @ Pack

Lacy will be low owned and Gurley should be pretty highly owned. I like Lacy over Gurley although he is much higher priced.

Bills @ Titans

Bills are great against the run terrible vs the pass. Marriota is low priced and should be low owned. Stacking him with Wright or Walker will be a good low owned stack. Nobody knows who will play at RB for Buffalo. If Williams does he will be mid owned with high upside.

Cards @ Lions

I honestly think this game is a stay away from.
The only play is Cards running backs but who knows how they will split carries?

Broncos @ Raiders

Raiders are great vs run but poor vs pass. Denver is stout vs both. If I stack here it will be Manning Sanders or Manning Daniels. Manning Thomas is too expensive.

Pats @ Boys

Randle is the only here. Low owned high upside.

9ers @ Giants

Jennings and QB WR stacks on both sides here. Kap will be really low owned and has HUGE upside. Kap Boldin here. Eli Randle or Eli Beckham.

Steelers @ Chargers

Bell Bell Bell. With his high price tag may be low -mid owned. Stacking Rivers Allen may be a good upside as well. I also like Miller at TE.

Ill try to keep adding games today while Im home.

I have never played DFS bc of the Louisiana exemption.

so explain to me why percentage owned, helps or hurts?

I understand the values, but why is percentage so important?

if Julio is dominantly owned then you get no advantage over the thousands of other entrants in the contest that also started julio

If a player is 50% owned it means half the entries have that player. so you do not gain an advantage. If you can find a player 1-5% owned that puts up the same numbers then you gain an advantage over almost the entire field. Now obviously there are times where you need to have an highly owned player because he will go off. Many thought Freeman would be that guy last week but under 20% owned him. This week he got a boost in salary.

Thats what I thought. I just wasn't sure if you always have to play against the masses? or can you join a league with just a handfull of people?

If anyone played the Thursday 175k on fanduel or others can u post ownership values for Sunday games? Gore was 5.1% owned on Thurs-Mon game. Hopkins was 33%. That's super high for Hopkins given his high salary. That was surprising. Hopefully the lower guys can match his points. (30)

Foster 8.5
Hilton 3.3
Fleener 4.5

Atl gives up tds and catches to rbs. But not yards. I'm not sure i like a third stringer that may not get double digit touches. You should salary left from that?? Maybe add Sankey who is cheap.

Oh really?

Lol that lineup is terrible and would probably come in last in every single cash game and wouldn't even cash a $2 50/50

You must play large GPPs. Flacco and Bal WRs should be nowhere near cash games. Forsett is set for a big game.

I seriously doubt Murray will be highly owned.

Cracks me up when I hear this. People hear a stat and put no thought behind it. Bills have faced a healthy Luck, Eli, and Brady. Of course there numbers will be skewed. Throw Mariota in a large GPP field if you want, but if you trust him in cash games, you aren't very good at DFS.

I'm only playing 1pm games because I love an 8 game slate and I can put more research into fewer games. I will get back with more of my thoughts after my tests today.

damn dog, coming at my neck with that comment

I like Bradford this week against New Orleans. Thompson is a big question mark against Atlanta, but I see him getting some receptions and maybe a garbage time TD. Benjamin is the Browns highest target guy, Fitzgerald has been a beast so far, and I think Wright will have a big week on a bye week. If Hurns keeps up the targets he'll have a good week too.

Nice write up.

Thoughts on Bradford? Coming off a big week vs the Saints at home I like him as a cheap QB play.

i like Danny Woodhead in the PIT-SD Monday night game.

also Duke Johnson.

you could pair either of those guys with one of the top backs like Bell or Charles this week I guess.

Duke is $5900 on FanDuel
Woodehead is $6000
